It's been a very long time since our last post. We've just sold boat #6, our 1984 Nordic Tug 26 and she's gone to a new home on Pender Island. We moved off the boat and into our new house in June '23 and are sorry to say that we had neglected her badly since then. We were just too busy finishing up the house build, both inside and outside, to pay her any attention. It was hard to watch her deteriorate. She was languishing at the dock and you know what that means for a boat, nothing good. We'd planned this summer to complete our landscape build and knew we wouldn't have any time for her this year either, so, we made the difficult decision to sell. We spent a couple of weeks doing necessary maintenance, a few upgrades and a general systems cleanup, then, had her trucked down to Victoria for an engine assessment, starter rebuild and new batteries etc. prior to putting her on the market. As it turned out, we didn't have to look for a buyer as the buyer found the boat at the marina's work dock, attracted by her iconic, salty, classic tugboat look and inquired whether she could be for sale. We were thrilled to find a buyer who appreciated the boat and would complete what we had started, lavishing the necessary time and attention on her to bring her back to her full potential.

So, we are now 'boatless' for the first time in many years. Might there be a boat #7? Nothing on the horizon right now, but, never say never! We're not ruling it out. Who knows what the future might bring.
In the meantime, we are very much enjoying life with Skipper, our miniature English Bull Terrier who has just turned two. She loves to 'help' with the landscaping.
The aftermath isn't so great, though...
But, at least all the exercise and fresh air pays off with a sound sleep!
